"If money helps a man to do good to others, it is of some value; but if not, it is simply a mass of evil, and the sooner it is got rid of, the better."

It was a sunny Saturday morning. We were on our way to Washington DC from New Jersey. The journey was quite pleasant; we enjoyed the sun and beautiful scenery of Baltimore on our way. Stopped at Baltimore visitor centre to take a walk and enjoy a delicious custard ice-cream. It was good to see American families out with their kids, enjoying the place and living the weekend to the fullest.

Thanks to my friends in Washington DC- Paxton, Rehan and Anurag, in the evening, I enjoyed being present at a phenomenal occasion organized by “The Washington Nationals Dream Foundation” that believes in the power of baseball. The Dream Gala 2017 was held at Marriott Marquis Washington DC, 901 Massachusetts Avenue, NW on a Saturday night that is 10th June.
The Washington Nationals Dream Foundation is committed to improving the lives of children and teens in the Washington, D.C. region by supporting initiatives focused on academics, the arts, nutrition and sports. Through the generosity of Nationals fans and corporate partners, the Dream Foundation is using the power of baseball to provide a world of opportunity for the youth of Washington DC.
The Neighborhood Initiative: The Dream Foundation provides grants and other resources to local nonprofit organizations dedicated to assisting children and families. Since the program's inception in 2007, more than $420,000 grants have been made to nonprofits in the Metro D.C. area.

The introductions were insightful, followed by memorabilia and a couple of auctions. Apparently, when it comes to raising fund for charity, Americans stay committed. We were happy to notice that auctions for baseball were going for higher bids with great enthusiasm. It was good to spend time with other guests with whom I shared the details of Mentor on Road, USA program and the entire purpose behind it.
While we were riding back, I was surprised to know that I share a common interest with Paxton and his wife Rachel as they too, love driving long distances. They talked about their previous journeys in the USA where they had to take long driving routes and how it has always been a fun experience for them.
Finally, we reached our hotel and it was time to take some rest. Tomorrow on Sunday we have an event with Indian Diaspora in DC. I am looking forward to meeting some old and new friends.
Jai Ho! (Let victory be yours)
