Day 50 of Mentor on Road, USA

“Perfect sincerity, holiness, gigantic intellect, and all-conquering will. Let only a handful of men work with these, and the whole world will be revolutionized.”
-
Swami Vivekananda
Mentor on Road cannot believe that it has reached the 50th day of its journey. It feels like it was almost yesterday that we started but as they say, time flies when you are doing something you enjoy.

Day 50th of Mentor on Road started with an interesting event with start-ups in Denver,
organized by Boomtown Accelerator. The companies that were present in the event were a mix of both, tech and non-tech background. We were glad to note that all of them were unique and innovative in their own way.  Mentor on Road would soon be working with them and connecting them to India. Also, the technologies we came across would be of huge help to solve the problems currently persisting in India.

Mentor on Road then headed to a remarkable interaction with the American companies who are interested in trade and investment in India. Our whole-hearted thanks to World Trade Center, Denver for organising such a good event for us. The companies that were present ranged across various sectors.

Mentor on Road talked about different opportunities which can be explored in the Indian market and how they could eventually turn out be of good benefit to the American companies. Our presentation was highly appreciated, followed by a thought provoking Q&A session. The questions raised were extremely genuine and appropriate. It was a great experience to be able to answer all of them successfully.

Also, a lot of the companies present were not aware about the positive changes taking place in the Indian economy. We would soon be working with some of them on the strategic ways to approach the Indian market.

The World Trade Center, Denver is the premier international business resource in the Rocky Mountain region. Leveraging the skills and knowledge of their membership, their public and private sector partners and their global network of World Trade Centers, they provide comprehensive international trade services and key global contacts to facilitate and expand trade and international business throughout Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region. It’s a non-profit international business organization licensed in 1987 by the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) in New York.

The mission of the World Trade Center, Denver has evolved around four key service areas:
  • Educate members on how to expand their business in the global marketplace
  • Connect members with one another locally and globally through networking events, round table discussions, educational programs, conferences, and technology
  • Inform members of available resources, news, trade information, and international business success
  • Advocate to lawmakers at the federal, state and local level for sound policies that support the existing international business community while positioning the region as a key global business center

We then headed to an interactive session with the Indian diaspora in Denver. Heartfelt thanks to the National US India Chamber of Commerce, Denver for organizing the event. The chamber's vision is to promote a business and cultural climate between the United States and India, and potentially other countries which motivates and empowers individuals to create value in the pursuit of prosperity and fulfilment.

We presented about the smart village programme and had received a good response as the crowd agreed to adopt two villages, one in Gujarat and other one in Rajasthan, respectively.

Mentor on Road is extremely happy to announce that till now we have 38 villages adopted for transforming them into smart villages that too in just a period of 1000 days. It truly feels like an achievement but as they say, hard work pays off.

Even though it was a long day, it was completely worth it. Tomorrow, Mentor on Road would be heading towards Omaha. Hope the journey ahead stays as bright and constructive as it has been till now.

Jai Ho! (Let victory be yours)
