“All that man has to do is to take care of three things; good thought, good word, good deed.”
Day 63 of Mentor on Road, USA started with a wonderful meeting with a bunch of start-ups at 1871 accelerator which houses 550 start-ups in a 150,000 square feet area in Chicago. Mentor on Road shared about the start-up India program of Government of India and how it can help them to build a bright career in future.
We are glad to receive some good leads. Mentor on Road will soon start working with them and connect them to India.
Founded in 2012, 1871 was created to support Chicago’s digital startup community. Since that time, it has become the hub for the city’s thriving technology and entrepreneurial ecosystem. Today, 1871 is the home of more than 500 early-stage, high-growth digital startups.
Located in The Merchandise Mart, this 150,000 square foot facility is also the headquarters of nationally recognized accelerators, industry-specific incubators, tech talent schools, the Illinois Science and Technology Coalition — the state’s leading technology advocate, a number of Chicago-based VCs, and satellite offices for Northwestern University, University of Illinois, University of Chicago, Loyola University Chicago, Illinois Institute of Technology, DeVry University, and DePaul University.
Chicago’s brightest digital designers, engineers and entrepreneurs are shaping new technologies, disrupting old business models, and resetting the boundaries of what’s possible.
Here, one can share ideas, make mistakes, work hard, build their business and, with a little luck, change the world.
Also, building and learning go hand in hand. Tenants and members of 1871 have priority access to hundreds of classes, lectures, seminars and other programs designed to educate and inspire. From classes specifically designed to empower entrepreneurs, to talks from leading business-builders, technologists and designers, to inspirational sessions from artists and others, 1871 offers a full range of content and programming.
The mission of 1871 is to grow the number of technology jobs in Chicago by providing diverse, digitally-enabled startups with access to space and connectivity, education and training resources, early-stage and venture capital and customers.
Mentor on Road then headed to check out the latest technologies being developed by Microsoft at their Chicago centre. It was indeed a great opportunity. We would like to adopt some of them at our office at Global Network, Ahmedabad.
At the Microsoft Technology Centre (MTC), Chicago, they believe that people are every organization's most important asset. They provide the inspiration and initiative to find new customers, create innovations or expand into new markets. With the right tools they can do this even in the most challenging circumstances.
The MTC is a tool to help one envision, design and deploy solutions to address even their toughest business challenges. Their team is dedicated to helping one transform their business in a mobile-first, cloud-first world.
Hope the journey ahead stays as fruitful as it had been till now.
Jai ho! (Let victory be yours)
