Panaji- The Heart of Goa

As the ripples of water rise and fall the cruise boats float around and the Mandovi river continues its silent journey. As the loud bell beacons out loud from the white tower a sweet sound of the church choir serenades the air. The hills around illuminate a hue of red as a ray of sun falls down on the many red tiled roofs of the houses serenading it all around. A heady smell of gulmohur hangs in the air as one strolls down the cobbled streets. One feels a surge of cultural amalgamation as one gets a tryst with the architectural monuments ranging from the decoratifs styles from around the world like the beautiful arches of the British colonial style,  the paintings of the Indian European designs and the beauty of the domestic goan art.  As evening starts to set in  a humdrum of activity sets in the promenade as the skies cast an orange hue in the river flowing by. Ah! nature and its vagaries!!! This is the feeling which all experience as they enter the city of Panaji popularly known as Panjim, the capital of Goa.

Panaji along with Goa was a part of the Portuguese territory and it was annexed by India in 1961. Due to this as one walks down the streets of Panaji one feels a strong cultural influence of the Portuguese. Like the rest of Goa, Panaji too has beautiful beaches like Miramar, Bambolim, and Dona Paula. The famous Goa carnival is also held here everywhere. Panaji today is steadily reinventing its image and today the educational sector is steadily growing and today Panaji has the presence of many reputed educational institutions pertaining to the field of management, law, medical and others.

Though the mainstay for the economical growth of Panaji continues to be tourism and allied activities related to it, a lot of other industrial cluster are moving at a rapid speed here The mining industry is burgeoning here as a lot of resources like iron, bauxite have been discovered here. Similarly the pharmaceutical industry is developing at  a rapid pace. The Corlim Industrial Estate that lies 15km from Panaji has around 58 industrial clusters and has been contributing to the economy of Panaji. Packets of cashew are always what one gets as one visits Goa, this just goes to show the popularity of cashews of Goa so cashew cluster is today one of the most important industrial division that has immense potential to skyrocket the economy of Goa.

So with an aim to help this burgeoning industry of Panaji we come to the beautiful city of Panaji to learn, mentor, guide and disseminate and assimilate knowledge.
