“Nashik has all the ingredients to make it an ideal destination for investments in homes. Secondly, the climatic conditions, healthy industrial, educational , social and cultural scenario, all goes into making Nashik a favoured city."- Sujoy Gupta , Samraat Group
As the sound of the temple bells adorn the air and one sees the pristine water of the river Godavari glistening bright one realises that we are standing in the holy city of Nashik in the state of Maharastra. Nashik has always been famous from age immemorable as the city where Lord Rama stayed during his exile. As one walks down the streets of Nashik we see the many temples and monuments that add an spiritual charm to the air. Very often the word Nashik is synonymous to the khumb mela and other holy sites and places like Panchavati located in it. Yet today Nashik is undergoing a transformation like no other city in India. Today as one walks down the streets of Nashik one notices the huge crowds praying outside the temples while there are others clad in their formal attire walking towards the gates of tall towering buildings of the many companies that adorn the streets of Nashik today. Today Nashik is excellent example of a place where there is a confluence of history and modern day advancement.
Nashik is fast shedding its image as a pilgrimage city and today is a part of the golden triangle along with Mumbai and Pune. The strategic location of Nashik ( it is around 200 km from both Pune and Mumbai) and its proximity to other major cities like Ahmedabad, Delhi, Agra etc has led to an unprecedented growth in its infrastructure due to which it has been attracting investment from all quarters. The development of Nashik into an industrial hub is not something new as Nashik finds its mention as early as in 150 B.C in the works of the famous philosopher Ptolemy due to which many researchers have ascertained that Nashik might have had the largest marketplace of the country.
Like the mystical environment that surrounds Nashik a factor that makes Nashik different from other cities in India is the amalgamation of agricultural, pilgrimage and industrial economy.Nashik is popular for its onions and is a green belt area in India. The “queen of sarees” paithani saree which is weaved intricately using gold and silk is also manufactured prominently in Nashik. Today Nashik is marked with the presence of stalwarts of organisation in all quarters like automobile, pharmaceutical, engineering and manufacturing. Some of them are Mahindra and Mahindra, CEAT, Suzlon, Bosch India, Coca Cola, Parle G, FEM, GlaxoSmithKline, Cipla, Siemens, Crompton Greaves, L&T, Jindal Steel, Kirloskar etc. It also has manufacturing plant of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited which employs around 7000 people and also has the India Security Press and Currency Security Press. The presence of these companies has lead to the development of a host of ancillary companies which has greatly improved the economy of Nashik.
Nashik also exudes an entrepreneurial spirit which can be identified by the success of one organization in particular which has made Nashik to be recognised as the Napa Valley of India. Mr Rajeev Samant a Stanford graduate quit his job and started a winery in his family estate and from that humble beginning today his wine company Sula is famous all around the globe as a premium variety of wine. This has led to an unprecedented growth of winery in Nashik which has given it the status of wine capital of India.
The other quarter in which Nashik is seeing a steady growth is the Information Technology domain and post Pune, Nashik is all set to become the next IT hub in India. Further this has led to the development of real estate which proves that Nashik is well on its way to become the fastest developing city in the India and this can be substantiated by the fact that City Mayors Foundation, an international think tank on urban affairs ranked Nashik as the 16th fastest developing city in the world.
Hence, as Nashik steadily moves to the forefront of development and is well on its way of transformation as the next industrial hub, we through our project Mentor on road aim to help the MSME’s, the startups located there so that Nashik can develop further at an unprecedented level and soar high like a falcon in the sky.
